Chemical components are made of atoms that have protons and electrons within. Water is a combination of elements and is referred to as a molecule. The elements in question are hydrogen and oxygen that are held by the mechanism of bonding. This is simply the attempt by unstable elements to attain stability or chemical equilibrium. There are three states of matter. The most common state is the liquid since it is exhibited under normal conditions or room temperature.

Approximately seventy five percent of the globe is covered by this liquid. The oceans store the highest volumes and the largest is the Pacific. Rivers continually drain into the oceans. They spring from the highland regions. It is also located in the ground as wet lands, bogs and springs. The underground version sis referred to as deep seepage. Humans have found ways of obtaining it from the deep layers of the earth. The other form that is generally in gaseous state is located in the atmosphere. The clouds in their mature stage have the ice pellets.

The hydrological cycle attempts to explain what happens in the atmosphere. The clouds precipitate in form of rain, snow, or hailstones. On reaching the surface, part of it flows on the ground as rivers and the other portion is sucked deep into the soil. Deep ground flow occurs as it drains in the oceans too. Plants undergo what is called transpiration and this drains vapor to the atmosphere. The ocean also experiences a similar loss called evaporation and the moisture alongside that acquired from the plants rises and later forms clouds. The clouds precipitate again and the cycle goes on.

Clean water is very vital to both humans and animals. It can be defined as pure and safe with no pollutants for consumption. A difference exists between fresh and clean liquid. Fresh sources are those that have inlets and outlets. Most lakes are fresh sources. The oceans are all salty because they have no outlets. The inlets are very active and manifest as river deltas.

Pollution occurs when contaminants are injected into the liquid sources consequently becoming a disaster after humans and animals experience the devastating effects. The most hit are the plants and organisms that directly rely on the polluted body. Chemicals and pathogens are the most common pollutants. The threat is now being curbed by the use of sewers and industrial water is now properly disposed.

The most common examples of water borne diseases include diarrhea, bilharzia, dysentery, cholera and typhoid. Microorganisms contaminating the sources are responsible and death outbreaks have been reported. The effects are severe and the maladies if not curbed have the potential of wiping out a whole community.

The deadly diseases emphasize why it is necessary to drink clean water. Making it pure is important. Killing the pathogens is the main objective. Boiling greatly helps. Desalination is the other method employed.

Water is thus very important to both the earth and human body. This may be the reason why both are greatly made of high liquid volumes. It propagates agriculture because without it land becomes unproductive. For aquatic animals, the property of being transparent makes it possible for sunlight to pass through.
